Details
This is just the right time to take your dive training to the next level. The water is warming back up and the days are getting longer. We are enjoying a spectacular winter dive season; Spring, Summer, and Fall seem especially promising this year. If you get your Advanced certification now, you will have a much richer set of dives to enjoy in the months ahead.
One qualifies for Advanced Adventure Diver certification by completing five adventure dives (see list below). These dives are offered in a rotating series, so if you pay attention to our calendar, you can always find a qualifying dive that suits your schedule. In addition to Underwater Navigation, a Deep Diving class is required. The other specialties may include Digital Photography, Night Diving, Shore Diving, Drift Diving, Boat Diving, Wreck Diving, Advanced Buoyancy, Computer Diving, Nitrox, and Marine Ecosystems.
The cost for the entire Advanced Adventure Diver certification including all lectures, training, and five open water dives is normally $399 but is now only $299 for this season-opening session. Boat fees for the deep dive are not included.
Advanced Adventure Diver certification is necessary when chartering to dive deeper than 60-70 feet. Not only will scuba services and resorts require proof of training, it just makes great sense to be prepared and trained.
For this class, we will meet at the beach portal between the ocean and the parking lot. A complete navigation lecture will precede hands-on practice using the compass. Training will take place on the beach before gearing up and moving to the surf for the underwater navigation portion.
Gear is available for rental during this event. Please give sufficient notice, so we can bring the gear you need. If requesting a BCD, wetsuit or fins, please state size. Air tanks, $10; BCD, $15; Regulator sets, $15; Weights (any amount), $5; wetsuit $10 (supply limited).
