This is the perfect time to take a long lunch from work, don your gear, kill some lionfish, burn some calories, and be back at your desk before the boss knows you are gone.

We'll meet and suit up near the pier. As soon as we can, we will enter the surf north of the pier and swim out to the ledge. Drifting south, we'll hunt lionfish in the haunts we have seen them lately: under the ledges and in the patch reef. We'll come ashore near the Seatech Bldg and make our way back to the cars.

This dive is suitable for open water divers but it is recommended you have some experience, or at least be able to swim the two pier lengths out to the ledge on the surface with no problem. Divers should have their own lionfish spears, although a few are available for rental.

RENTAL GEAR is available for this dive with sufficient notice (3 hrs before scheduled time). Air tanks, $10; BCD, $15; Reg set, $15; Weights, any amount, $5. Proof of Open Water or higher certification required.
