DAILY BEACH DIVER REPORT: 08-02-2022

Finally, it looks like Mother Ocean is settled enough for a visit from the beach. We are prepared for the tea-brown water near shore, the result of a week of strong wind mixing sargassum with salt water to create a thick soup about 12’ deep. Nearer to the reef, water begins to clear, especially near the bottom, to the extent that we can count the lobsters left from Mini-Season. Surge is minimal today and currents will strengthen at the mid-tide point. Temps are a balmy 84F at 20’
