DAILY BEACH DIVER REPORT: 07-27-22

Three, two, one, . . . GO! Lobster Mini-Season has officially begun. 3’ waves and crappy viz will keep most of us ashore today. No one needs a lobster bad enough for the pain of marginal conditions. Those who do go will find plenty of bugs because the preseason counts were bountiful. Should you be one of the intrepid ones, you will find very strong surge. Experienced divers remember how the motion of the ocean can slam one into coral and sharp rock when trying to remain stationary enough to tickle a lobster out of its hole. Such conditions also cause one to burn through air quicker, so keep an eye on that gauge and be prepared to head back shy your 12 bug limit.

Good luck and stay safe!
