Night Beach Dive on the Incredible Yellow Brick Road

  • Charnow Park 300 Connecticut Street Hollywood, FL, 33019 United States (map)

You've heard about this incredible site, now you can visit it and enjoy its wonders just off the beach in Hollywood. Once a path through the reefs for an outfall pipe, this structure now serves as habitat for in incredible diversity of marine life, including reef fish, tropical species, shark, rays, lobster, and countless others. Larger fish traverse the area in their circuits north and south, so expect to see tarpon, amber jack, mackeral, and small tuna.

We'll meet in the parking garage or in the ramada next to the Broadwalk out front. After a short briefing, we'll wade into the surf and swim the few meters past the surf to the first reef line. The Yellow Brick Road starts about there but because it is a narrow entry, we'll have some veteran divers lead the way. Bring a camera because you will doubtless see a lot to remember.

Each diver must be equipped with a primary light and a tank marking light or chemlight identifier. A secondary light is highly recommended. This dive is appropriate for those who have some night diving experience and not for those wishing to try night diving for the first time.

After the dive, we have our choice of Broadwalk taverns, cafes, or Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, to decompress and tell dive stories.

RENTAL GEAR IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS DIVE.
