Beginners Twilight to Dark Beach Dive

  • 300 Perry Street 300 Perry Street Hollywood, Florida United States (map)

Details

You’ve seen the night diving videos that show lobsters, eels, octopus, squid, basket stars, and a host of other reef creatures that prefer the dark and you want to see them for yourself, but….you just aren’t sure if it is for you. This dive is designed with you in mind! We’ll gear up in broad daylight, ease into the surf as the sun drops lower, and make our way underwater while it is still easy to see with available light. As we get to the incredible boulder pile, we may use our lights to see into some of the shadows, then, before you know it, you are diving in the dark.

This dive will provide you the experience you need to feel comfortable with night diving without the need to do everything in the dark. Those who wish to move from Open Water Certification to Advanced ratings, can credit this dive toward that training by making arrangements with Instructor Tom. We won’t be lobstering or hunting at all on this dive – just enjoying the artificial reef and all the beautiful sights reserved for non-daylight visitors.

You must be at least Open Water certified to make this dive. Bottom time will be 45-60 minutes at a maximum depth of 20-25 feet.
Plenty of parking is available with MasterMeters taking cash or credit. NO restroom facilities are nearby but a freshwater shower is available to rinse off salt and sand afterward.

Rental Gear is Available upon request: air tanks, $10; BCD, $15; Reg set, $15; Dive light, $10; Weights (any amt) $5; dive flag & reel, $5.
