This is where it all begins. You can start your training for Open Water Certification with this pool session. During this time, we will assess your ability in the water, introduce you to essential scuba equipment, train you in the assembly and disassembly of your scuba configuration (BCD, regulators, and tank), and cover basic gear usage. Then, we spend time in the pool learning and practicing the 22 essential skills required for Open Water Certification.
The Beach Diver Open Water training is exceptional because ALL STUDENTS USE A DIVE COMPUTER DURING OPEN WATER DIVES. Most divers use dive computers in the ocean, so it makes sense to learn on one. We get you started right in order for you to be better prepared as a diver.
Divers may provide their own mask, snorkel, fins, and other scuba gear they may own or they may use those available for students (Rental cost is included in the course fee). Wetsuits are recommended at this time of year and The Beach Diver has a limited selection available. Also bring a towel and some sun screen. Some sessions will be followed by a trip to the ocean for introductory open water dives. If you will participate in that, you may need parking money for the beach site.
Make arrangements with Tom or Liana to ensure availability of a pool slot. Full certification is only $350 (Normally $499 each!) for all equipment rental, training, and open water dives. Groups are limited to 4 divers per session.
